FROM SPRINGWORKS FESTIVAL

I had the pleasure of taking a workshop with Allison in early pandemic days. It was offered as a stress management activity and way to connect with folks at a workplace with a lot of different folks, some highly skilled performers and a lot of other “regular” non-performer types. I attended to be a team player, not really knowing what was going to happen. I am a non-dancing, not very fit gal of a certain age, who sits in front of a desk for a fair amount of my life. And some seriously talented pro-dancers were there too.

I left feeling lighter, smiling from ear to ear. What a joy to use our bodies and our imaginations. Layered prompts, building on imagery and embodiment, all to music and it was so much FUN – yes that word in these times.

I was given permission to give myself permission to leave the camera on or off, to do or not do moves and just play.  Sigh … Give me more!

Best,

Eileen Smith, Artistic Producer
