This talk focuses on the role of Iranian Women and female puppets in the traditional form of Iranian puppetry, as well as the transition from the traditional forms to the modern, and the influence of Iranian women on this art form.
Bio:
Neda Izadi is a puppeteer with a bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts from Sooreh University in Tehran, Iran, and a Master of Fine Arts in Dramatic Arts from the University of Connecticut. Her interest in puppetry stems from her passion for painting and sculpting to combine visual and performing arts. Her current work as a program specialist at the Dodd Center for Human rights brings art and puppetry to human rights issues for the betterment of our society.
