Storyboarding

with Erik Kuska

As puppetry is such a visual medium, it’s important that we understand and utilize storyboards to help us refine, and evolve our performances.  But what are storyboards? And what if I can’t draw?  Well in 45 minutes I hope to unlock both of those doors for you, so you can apply storyboarding to your creativity toolbox, and immediately start saving you time, and $$.  We’ll cover the basics, and I’ll show a few samples and discuss ways to apply storyboards to your project TODAY.  Puppet artist, director, writer, whoever you are, your stories will thank you.

Skill level: This will be geared toward beginners.  An ‘intro’ class if you will.  Though all would be welcome.

Materials: We will be drawing circles and lines, so have a stack of blank 3×5 index cards, some blank sheets of paper, and Sharpie markers.  (No erasing allowed!).  This will be a Zoom format class so you will also need a basic internet, computer set up, with camera and audio capability.  You may need headphones as that may help with the group audio.

Coming January 2021, Approximately 2 hours

All sessions will take place via Zoom.
